The first disciples witnessed the Master take off his outer robes, and take the position of a slave, washing their feet. Jesus set this act as the measuring rod of our fraternal relationships. We want to imitate those first disciples in “considering others interests above our own.” We want their same zeal for loving one another as He has loved us. In the Brotherhood we are a band of Brothers, closer than any other organization of men – whether military platoon or social club – by virtue of our consecration in Christ.
