Brs. Joe Donovan and Brandon Frank hosted over 100 students at the Northeastern Catholic Center for the 5th Annual Interfaith Progressive Dinner. The Catholic Center provided dessert for men & women of all faiths from nations in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe & the Americas were represented. The Gospel imperative to go out to the “highways and byways” was also heeded as a group of 12 students initiated a regular outreach to the homeless in Boston called the "PB&J Gang". The students take time to meet with and provide food for the homeless people they encounter in their walks around the city.
Hundreds of Students from the campuses of Florida State, Boston University, Rutgers University and Northeastern University flee the confines of their dorm room to go on Fall Retreat. These retreats are a chance for students to powerfully experience God’s love in their lives. For many it is the beginning step of a new life in Christ. Fr. Philip Merdinger made his way south to Miami, Florida to speak to the seminarians of St. John Vianney College Seminary, at the invitation of Fr. Juan Carlos Rios, director of spiritual formation for the seminary. Fr. Philip spoke to the 65 young men, who are currently studying for the priesthood, on the gift and privilege of celibacy in the priesthood.
