Fr. Philip Merdinger travelled to Minnesota to assist St. Paul’s Outreach during their “School of the New Evangelization”, where over 150 college students receive catechetical and evangelistic training. Earlier in the summer, Br. Joseph Donovan and Br. John McCabe also attended a formation conference of the Sword of the Spirit in Michigan.
Our week-long community conference this year focused on two separate topics. First, as a follow-up to the Church's Year of St. Paul, Dr. Edward Sri of FOCUS Ministries led us in reflection on Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians. The second half of our time was led by our own Fr. Robert Oliver, BH and focused on “Renewal Movements in the Church”.
This summer we celebrated our tenth year of service trips to Tanzania. Over the years more than 100 college students and young adults have been blessed to make this trip with our community. For this special anniversary, Br. Ken Apuzzo and Br. Clinton Reed were featured on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock” to talk about these trips and our mission of evangelization.
Br. Adam Neri and Br. Stephen Quense began master's level studies in Pastoral Ministry at the summer program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Also, Br. Jude Lasota joined hundreds of priests and religious at Creighton University for further formation as a spiritual director.
